About

Valerie I. Kirkendall,

Attorney at Law

You need an expert when it comes to your legal needs.  I can guide you through each stage of your life by developing an estate plan for your growing family, advising you regarding your aging parents or simplifying the administration of a family member’s estate. My practice includes wills, trusts, estate planning, guardianship and conservatorship, probate, and adoption.

I understand that these matters will have a long-lasting effect on your life and finances, as well as the lives of your loved ones, which is why I will work to know you as an individual.  You can expect candid advice and respect for the value of your time and money. I am a hometown Oregon attorney with the life experience to address the needs of elderly clients, families with young children, and singles.

After graduating from Sherwood High School, I earned dual bachelor degrees from Portland State University, and went on to earn my Juris Doctorate from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College.  I have been helping clients navigate the legal system from my Tigard office since 2002.

As a member of the community, I am a past volunteer with OASIS and Legal Aid Services for Seniors, I served as a volunteer judge with the Tigard Police Department Peer Court, I am a member of the Oregon State Bar Standing Committee on Adoption and Assisted Reproductive Technology Law.

Libby Kirkendall,

Legal Assistant

Libby Kirkendall is the daughter of Attorney Valerie Kirkendall and spent time as a young child roaming around the office on an occasional afternoon, writing short stories and notes to judges on the office typewriter. Since then she graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Applied Linguistics and a certification in Teaching English as a Second Language.

She spent several years working as a preschool and toddler teacher at local schools. She moved to the Bay Area in California in August of 2019, discovered that there really is something special about Oregon, and recently returned to the area. She  began working as a Legal Assistant in September of 2020.

In her free time, she enjoys writing letters to judges on typewritters, painting, running, and spending time outside with her dog, Callie, and partner, John.

Our office is ready to provide you with the competent and caring legal advice you need.  It's never too soon to prepare for the future or put your wishes in writing. To arrange a meeting to discuss your legal options, call (503) 308-1438 or send a message through our website.

Valerie Kirkendall's high attention to detail and expertise in the field makes her the absolute best at what she does.
